SANDALS INN in Montego Bay suspended operations on Monday and Beaches Sandy Bay Resort in Negril will close its doors from Sunday, September 8.
Sandals Resorts International stated in a release issued earlier this week that it will be using the opportunity to effect necessary upgrading at the two resorts due to reduced bookings for the upcoming Fall, from September to November.
The resorts are slated to resume operations in mid and late Fall. Guests booked to stay at these resorts have been upgraded at no extra cost to other Sandals/ Beaches resorts in the Negril and Montego Bay areas.
A majority of the staff at both hotels will be reassigned to other hotels in the chain. All staff will retain all medical and other benefits during the period of closure.
Sandals has a total of 10 resorts including six in Jamaica, two in St. Lucia, one in Antigua and one in Nassau, Bahamas. Beaches Resorts, the newest addition to the Sandals family, offers five locations in Jamaica, one in the Turks & Caicos and one in Cuba.
