Jamaica blank India 3-0

WATFORD (AP):

Jamaica beat India 3-0 in an international friendly match yesterday.

Jermaine Anderson scored Jamaica's first in the 34th minute at Vicarage Road stadium, home of first division club Watford, north of London. Anderson scored from a close range volley from a Irvino English cross.

Jamaica goalkeeper Aaron Lawrence scored the second goal from the penalty spot in the 69th minute after India's Tomba Singh clattered into Roland Dean in the box.

Five minutes from the end, Ian Goodison added Jamaica's third, collecting Dean's freekick and scoring.

India had few chances in the match, but had a goal disallowed for offside in the 11th minute by Indian captain Bhaichung Bhutia, who plays for England's division three club Bury.

Bhutia also made India's other best attempt ten minutes later when his shot ricocheted over the bar.

The two play each other again Sunday in Wolverhampton, central England.
