The Church should do more

THE EDITOR, Sir:

"THE CHURCH must do more". Of course Sir, the church should do more to bring the light to a darkened world. Alas, what we are calling the Church is in darkness themselves. So now we find prominent church leaders gone into politics as a means of doing more. These men are doing what is impossible, no fountain can give sweet and bitter water at the same time.

Sir, our Lord Jesus' last command to us before He was taken up was, "Ye shall be witnesses of me'. etc. Acts chp. 1:8. The duty of the church is to let the world rich or poor know that Jesus has all the answers to all our problems.

Be assured if we were all or most witnesses for Jesus, the world would be in a better state. Surely we would not need so many police and soldiers on our streets. What the church can do is not to invite others to come out and identify ourselves with politics. Because party politics creates every evil that we can think about: hate, malice, division, murders, strife, deceptions etc. And if you walk with the lame you become lame.

Jesus gives peace, love unity. All the good things we would want in life is found in Jesus, in this life and after.

God bless us.

I am, etc.,

A.A. WHITE
