Just plain lazy

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THERE HAVE been many claims that thousands of workers are out of jobs and that people cannot find employment. And that absurd excuse has been used by the government to place hordes of idlers of both sexes to line our public roads. They are described as emergency employment workers. But the fact is they are not workers at all. I am yet to see what work those 'workers' are doing.

We must be a very rich nation indeed when we can afford to support these gangs of shameless parasites, who just sit on their haunches all day and leer at you as you drive by, looking at you with insolence in their eyes.

Indeed, the idea that those out of jobs cannot find employment is sheer nonsense. They are just plain lazy. What is more, their example is sapping the nation of its will to work and produce. They are spreading their attitude of blackmail to all the workers of the nation who are now asking for higher wages for the same work that they did before.

What we need is a law to sentence each and everyone of those drones to hard labour in a maximum security prison.

I am, etc.,

KERRY PEART
