RBTT Bank yesterday was given the Financial Times of London, annual Banker's Bank of the Year Award at the Dorchester Hotel in London. Amrit Sinanan, chief executive officer and managing director of RBTT Bank Jamaica Limited was scheduled to receive the awards for RBTT Banks in Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.

The global editorial team of the 75-year-old publication adjudicated not only on the results and performance data of each nominee, but also information provided by all the institutions nominated in each country and category. Information included the achievements, technology initiatives and overall strategies of the financial institutions nominated in over 100 countries.

Stephen Timewell, editor of The Banker attributed RBTT's success to its consistent asset growth and the considerable attention that was given to information technology upgrades, with seven core systems being converted to the ALLTEL retail banking suite, achieving greater efficiency, economies of scale and consistency of products.

On receiving word of the award for Jamaica, Mr. Sinanan said "RBTT Bank Jamaica has created a dynamic impression and is making a positive difference in the country's banking and financial services arena."
