Army conducts training exercise

THE JAMAICA Defence Force (JDF) is advising residents of Moneague, St. Ann and its environs, particularly Orange Park and Friendship, that soldiers have been conducting training since yesterday. The exercise will end on Saturday.

Residents may hear loud bangs caused by pyrotechnics used by the soldiers as they practice their training drills, a JDF release said.

The public is being advised that there is no need to be alarmed by the presence of the soldiers who will be carrying out routine training that will not involve any live firing.

Members of the public who may have concerns about the troops on exercise in Moneague may telephone Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force at 960-8776.
