Decent housing for decent people

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HEREBY take this opportunity to write to you on behalf of the citizens who live on the Gregory Park train line.

For some time now the Member of Parliament, Mrs. Sharon Hay-Webster, promised us to assist in acquiring the piece of land adjacent to where we are living, but up until now we have not heard anything else from her.

We have also written to the Jamaica Railway Company trying to see if we can get the premises where we live to lease but have received no reply.

We are decent law-abiding citizens who have our families and are afraid that our livelihood may be destroyed. There are about two hundred houses along the Gregory Park train line with each house having from four upward people in them.

I am, etc.,
