Unfair comment against Jehovah Witnesses

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN REGARDS to the article published Sept 15, 2002 about the former Jehovah's Witness who was molested, I noted this quote at the end.

"Theologically, Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult of Christianity. The organisation does not represent historical, Biblical Christianity in any way. Sociologically, it is a destructive cult whose false teachings frequently result in spiritual and psychological abuse, as well as needless deaths."

I am not a Jehovah's Witness, I do not agree with their theology or doctrines, and I do not support their organisation. However, to post something like this in an article in a public newspaper does not quite sit right with me, even if what it says is true. Comments like this should be in a religious newsletter, not in a public bias-free newspaper.

I am etc.,
