WESTERN BUREAU:
BELLEFIELD HIGH will be going for their fourth straight win in the Pepsi/Sports Plus daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition this afternoon when they host Denbigh in a Zone F game at the Kirkvine Sports Club.
The competition is expected to resume after games scheduled for Wednesday and yesterday were ruled out because of the heavy rains which lashed the island.
The games will go ahead depending on the state of the fields, some of which were flooded during the prolonged rains.
Bellefield, last year's zone winners, are off to a fast start this season, winning their first three games and scoring 10 goals in the process including seven against newcomers Winston Jones on Tuesday.
Kayon Barrett and Clinton Brewery scored two goals each for Bellefield on Tuesday and will be expected to lead their school's attack today against a Denbigh team that has conceded four goals in three games.
Manchester High who had their win streak snapped at two with a draw on Tuesday will seek to keep pace with Bellefield when they travel to winless May Day.
Manchester High are coming off a 0-0 draw against Porus on Tuesday but May Day are not expected to pose much of a threat as they have lost both games s far and are yet to score a goal.
