Lawlessness rules the land

THE EDITOR, Sir:

GOD bless Father Ho Lung, a very God-fearing man, with that rare discipline that is lacking in most Jamaicans nowadays.

Father Ho Lung always speaks the truth without fear.

I truly believe, as you stated Sir, that unless a Government or a country is truly under God, and His command, it must fall, and Jamaica is falling rapidly.

Our spirituality, our soul, and our bodies are the three most important variables to life.

We almost completely ignore our spirituality and soul which are the most important, and place too much emphasis on our bodies.

We have become a very selfish and self-centered society. It is me, myself and I.

Jamaica is not a poor society, it is poorly managed. This is a rich country, but the wealth is not evenly distributed, so that all can benefit from it.

We have become a Godless nation, where immorality, greed, selfishness, disrespect, especially for our elders and the gratification of wrong and evil is now the norm.

We, in Jamaica, are reverting to the lawless society of the bad old days of sin city Port Royal, when buccaneers and pirates, lewdness and lawlessness ruled in Jamaica.

Everything that is bad and wrong in the sight of God is glorified. I was brought up to believe that Jamaica was a God-fearing country with God-fearing people, but that is a dream.

The church should be the bastion of Godliness, but that institution is too preoccupied with money, greed and all the faults and wrongs that go with it.

Our culture, or what is left of it, is being eroded and destroyed. Marcus Garvey will turn in his grave.

Only with God at the helm, can Jamaica be brought back from the abyss of decay, and give our motto the meaning it truly deserves, or this lovely piece of Eden will be paradise lost forever.

I am, etc.,
