Heroes of Vineyard Town

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WE HAVE so many young men on the corners, who, given the right support and if shown that good deeds are rewarding, would be all too willing to do good instead of evil.

On Tuesday September 10, a bus taking children from school caught fire, right in the vicinity of the Vineyard Town area. Frightened by the sight of hard-looking loitering young men the children halted between running out of the endangered bus and the ominous looking young men; eventually the more pressing danger took over and they ran out.

The young men rushed over and assisted the driver in putting out the flames and getting the bus back into driving condition, all without collecting a cent. Would you still say it is hopeless. Well, I will not. Further, I think the bus driver should have affirmed those young men. My daughter said she tried to say thanks and to wave to them.

On behalf the bus driver, the children, parents, I just wish to extend God's best to those young men and to tell them that there is still hope for them and that at least One Being is there who knows that there is good in them. Thank you guys.

I am, etc.,

CLAVI DARUS
