BRYAN DOUGLAS' 87th goal led former champions Norman Manley to a 2-1 victory over St. Andrew Technical in their Pepsi/Sports Plus Group E Manning Cup football match played under lights at Tinson Pen yesterday.
In the game, which started approximately 48 minutes late because only one official, showed up on time was also interrupted by three stoppages caused by crowd invasion and did not end until 6:16p.m.
Richard Henry gave St. Andrew Technical the lead in the seventh minute, one which the former champions held up to the 70th minute at which stage a defender's goal accounted for Manley's equaliser.
Norman Manley now moves to 10 points from four games and into the lead. This is only one ahead of Dunoon who was idle yesterday. Meanwhile, Tivoli scored their first victory of the season, a 2-0 win over lowly placed Tarrant to improve into third on five points, followed by STATHS (four).
The heat continued over in Group D as Trench Town and Jonathan Grant recorded impressive victories to keep up the pressure on early leaders Kingston College on 11 points from five games.
Only one point separate the leaders, KC (11 points) are just a point ahead of second place Trench Town (10), third place St. George's College (nine) and Jonathan Grant (eight).
