The most frightening experiences

THE EDITOR, Sir:

It was one of the most frightening experiences I have ever encountered. Life can never be the normal means of joy with the death of so many honest, innocent individuals. Those who died in the tragic fall of the twin towers, of the World Trade Center, should be a concern of every living human being. Such heavy loss of human resource is a major tragedy, which will be among us for generations to come.

Two weeks before the destruction of the World Trade Center, I stood on the top of one of these majestic towers surveying God's universe. It was night and I observed the twinkling stars molested by the lights of this magnificent New York City. It was a sight to behold!

Being a Jamaican with a habit of buying gifts I went into a gift shop on the last floor. I saw some of the most beautiful people (mostly black, young girls). I saw shirts with Bob Marley's image. I perused and examined the shirts with the man we Jamaicans hold in such high regard. It was really a stimulating feeling. I also saw through a telephoto instrument great men like Pele and Muhammed Ali.

I enjoyed my ride around New York city in a virtual way. This was in the form of a room with a screen like a theatre revolving in many directions, going under bridges and through alleys like a bird. At times you are so frightened you tend to "duck" as if your head is going to be torn off by the dangerous places, if you concentrate on the illusive journey. It was a memorable experience.

This was a beautiful building with extremely thick blue glass compared to the Seven Wonders of the World. I got lost at the bottom floor when I went back to the base. I can just imagine all those persons unfamiliar with the place trying to get out on that fateful day. It must have been pathetic and traumatic.

My belly moved when I saw the news of the building coming down. I could have been among those who perished so unfortunately. I figured from what I saw that Satan is alive and well, but thank goodness the Holy Lamb of God is our guide and protector. The flesh can be destroyed but the souls of those who trust in God shall certainly see His face. Remember the evil that man does will live after him. Long live the people of the USA! We are your friends in your time of trouble.

I am, etc.,

PARIS TAYLOR
