Less than 24-hours after Cyril Hamilton was abducted by gunmen in Stony Hill, St. Andrew, his gray Toyota Station Wagon was discovered miles away in the Cave Valley area of St. Ann.
The police confirmed yesterday, that his body was found with gunshot wounds, dumped in the Simon Taylor Road area of Olympic Gardens.
"His wife identified the body," head of the Olympic Gardens Homicide Team, Detective Inspector Michael Phipps said yesterday.
Further reports are that his car was found with bullet holes and the interior washed with blood. A resident of Mount Airy in rural St. Andrew, Mr. Hamilton who operates his vehicle as a taxi, was reported missing by his wife Thursday morning. The police theorised that he was abducted in Stony Hill, taken to Simon Taylor Road, where he was killed and dumped. The killers then took his motor vehicle and headed to St. Ann, where they held up a dry goods delivery truck in Fullerton Park, Cave Valley.
Crime Officer for St. Ann, Deputy Superintendent Wilford Gayle, yesterday confirmed the robbery and said the gunmen took an undetermined sum of cash and the delivery man's cellular phone.
Reports are that they then drove away from the scene, the police were alerted and went in the direction that they went. Allegations are that the vehicle the robbers were driving blew a tyre, forcing them to take to the bush in an attempt to escape.
