The circus of politics

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR. BRUCE Golding, what do you support? You denounced tribalism in politics, and formed a third party. You gained overwhelming support for your stance and efforts. I believed you had vision and charisma to become a formidable force in shaping Jamaica's politics. However, I am very disappointed with your decision to re-join the JLP.

You have left the NDM supporters without a leader, you relinquished a leadership position to become a puppet. Can you be trusted? What about the members of the NDM? They are Jamaicans too. What will you tell them? Are they to "follow" you to the JLP?

True marks of leadership include credibility and commitment. You have violated the trust many people placed in you. As a result, you cast yourself as a major disappointment, and another clown in the circus of politics. Remember, the reasons you formed a third party still exist and there is only one don in the JLP.

I am etc.,

JOHN DEAN
