A natural born leader

THE EDITOR, Sir:

RE: "Agriculture is the answer - Brascoe Lee"

I WOULD like to make a few comments about Brascoe Lees' 'letter that appeared in The Gleaner on September 24. It is very refreshing to know that we have someone as capable as Brascoe Lee showing some genuine interest in agriculture. Although his interest is, currently, in Trelawny, I wish this was on a national level.

I know Brascoe has a genuine interest in agriculture and also am very much aware of his love for Jamaica. I knew Brascoe before he even thought of entering the political arena and know firsthand that his heart in agriculture and he is not doing this because it may be politically wise but I honestly believe that he would be happy to promote agriculture only because of his love for it.

I migrated to the USA over 20 years ago and have not spoken to Brascoe since. We need more dedicated Jamaicans like Brascoe Lee, if Jamaica is going to be successful. Brascoe is natural born leader and I hope Jamaica will be smart enough to recognise and utilise the talent of this dedicated Jamaican. Trelawny is lucky to have Brascoe.

I am etc.,
