We should ban motorcades

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WISH to wholeheartedly support the call of the EAC to ban motorcades in the troubled areas as reported in your newspaper yesterday. In fact, I would recommend that we ban all motorcades.

Many of the staff in my office are now having great difficulty in getting through blocked roads to get to work and/or are intimidated by partisan crowds.

I really find it very difficult to accept that the business community may well have to sacrifice efficiency and productivity because of the election campaign. In fact, many people who have children, are worried about sending them to school next week.

Is this what it is all about or have we completely lost it?

I am etc.,

PETER J. C. THWAITES

Past Chairman Electoral Advisory Committee
