Senior citizens lauded

BLACK RIVER, St. Elizabeth:

SIX SENIOR citizens were honoured on October 3, by the Lions Club of Southfield in St. Elizabeth.

The function was held at the Bethel Apostolic Church and presided over by Annette Piper, Placement Officer at the Bethlehem Moravian College.

Those recognised are: Emily Stephenson, retired nurse; Lawrence Stephenson, Public Health Inspector; E. Foster, retired school Principal; Deloris Henry, retired nurse; Rosell McLean, retired school Vice-Principal; and Cephas Wright, farmer and businessman.

Guest speaker, Ruel Reid, lecturer at Munro College, asked the retirees not to give up on life but, continue to help in community development, family stability and upliftment of morality so that our nation will continue to reap rich rewards.

Greetings were brought by Clovis Tatham on behalf of the Diabetic Association, St. Elizabeth Chapter, the Senior Citizens Association and the Health Geneatric committee of the Lions Club.

Mrs. Foster replied on behalf of the retirees and vote of thanks was moved by Mrs. Valda Henderson.
