I'M BUSY researching a biography of Mary Seacole, commissioned by a publisher in England, and have been enjoying reading The Gleaner's archives. It struck me that there may be those amongst your readers who might have stories to tell about Mrs Seacole and her family, or information about her life in Kingston (her mother ran Blundell Hall as a boarding house on East Street, which was later taken over by Mary's sister Louisa).
Would you be kind enough to publish this letter, just in case anyone feels they might like to respond? I can be reached at the below mentioned mailing address or e-mail address.
I should be so grateful. Mary was such a heroine, and I should like - with your help - to do her justice.
