Thanks, road angels

THE EDITOR, Sir:

PLEASE ALLOW me use of your newspaper to thank the two young men who came to the assistance of my daughter and myself in the pouring rain on September 18, 2002 and stayed with us until we called our family.

While travelling to Linstead from Rosehall, a white motor car began overtaking a box body truck in the vicinity of the Rio Mango bridge, as you can imagine with speed needed to overtake combined with the wet road, the driver lost control of the car.

In my attempt to avoid a head-on collision I pulled to the left shoulder, well that was not enough. I was hit on the right side and sent over the ravine. It was by the grace of God that a tree was there to stop us from going into the river.

Well, needless to say neither the driver of the car or the truck stopped to see if we were injured. The only assistance came from these two gentlemen on their way to Ewarton and who just happened to see the car going over the ravine.

To my road angels, my daughter and I thank you both from the bottom of our hearts! I am sorry I did not get your names.

I am etc.,

J. MONTAGUE
