Commending Consul-General Dr Bryan

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON behalf of my fellow Jamaicans, I would like to commend the Consul General of Jamaica, Dr. Basil K. Bryan, for his commitment, devotion and dedicated service to the Jamaican community in New York.

Dr. Bryan's recent National Honour - the Order of Distinction is well deserved. He is the ideal community person who is admired for his dedication to furthering the development of the Jamaican and Caribbean communities and his commitment to fostering unity and togetherness in these communities.

He is actively involved in many programmes beneficial to the Jamaican cause and has never failed to support our people in their endeavours and to encourage them to always do positive things so that our flag will continue to fly high.

Dr. Bryan is so hardworking and extremely accessible to the public that it is jokingly said that he must be more than one person. He has transformed the Consulate into a more pleasant place to visit and do business and his staff is much more attentive and helpful.

Dr. Bryan is indeed a good representative of the Jamaican government. His work and numerous accomplishments confirm that in our society are many people who as professionals, sportsmen, artistes or scholars continue to make us feel proud to be Jamaican.

Once again, we commend him for the tireless way in which he has executed his duties as Consul General. May God continue to strengthen him as he continues to serve his country with true patriotic zeal.

I am, etc.,

"Patriotic Jamaican"
