Plaudits for first class coverage

THE EDITOR, Sir:

CONGRATULATIONS TO the media for providing first class coverage of Election 2002. I thought the collaborative efforts of Power 106 FM and The Gleaner worked well.

Television Jamaica should be particularly recognised for providing what I thought to be a very good coverage of Election 2002. CVM Television should be commended too, however, it became clear in the early hours of the evening that TVJ had put more planning and contingencies in place for election day coverage.

I gather Michael Sharpe is usually at his best when co-ordinating behind the scenes. Maybe Mr. Sharpe should consider trading positions in TVJ, more behind the scenes, less presentations. Just a thought!

I am etc.,
