The blood is crying out

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS I watched the news of the killings in Rema, my heart ached with rage. I do not know the parents and victims, nor do I know what they could have done that would justify such brutal acts, but what I do know is that at least two helpless and innocent young Jamaican daughters have lost their lives without a cause. And we must ask why.

I am then forced to ask the perpetrators and their custodians, who might be either mother or father, brother or sister, son or daughter, wife or girlfriend, uncle or aunt, grandmother or grandfather, cousin or friend, can't you hear the blood crying?

These insensitive custodians for too long play their roles, while the perpetrators who committed these and other brutal acts continue to create havoc in our island, Jamaica Land we Love, but I challenge them to take a positive stand against this evil deed, as the weapons used to terminate the lives of the innocent, by the perpetrators today, may very well cause their death tomorrow. To the perpetrators I say stop these brutal acts, as God Almighty has certainly heard the victims' blood cry and will act in due season.

May God have mercy upon us.

I am etc.,

JEROAME MARTIN
