Don't choose Blythe, Mr. PM!

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS IS an open letter to the Prime Minister:

Dear Prime Minister:

Please consider more carefully than ever before, your Cabinet appointments. The mandate you have demands that you should be very cautious about whom you ask to serve as Ministers. The Angus Report you referred to while perhaps not accusing Dr. Blythe of corruption certainly found him guilty of abusing his position and misrepresenting facts.

The public also found him guilty of an extraordinary amount of hubris. Don't be contemptuous of our views or prove us wrong for having entrusted you with another term of office.

Even if you do not consider the charges against Dr. Blythe serious, Jamaicans are expecting and demanding a higher level of moral authority from our leaders than we had before.

I am, etc.,

DAVID BARBER
