THE EDITOR, Sir:
THIS LETTER is addressed to the Mayor of Kingston and the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC):
Your Worship:
I have been advised by the National Works Agency that the KSAC is responsible for the maintenance of roads in the Corporate Area, but I have never been able to find anyone in your corporation to listen to my complaints.
It is very important that you do something immediately about Winchester Road. I understand from the NWA that this road was dug up by the National Water Commission to lay sewer mains and they have left this road in a terrible state. I wrote to the chief executive officer about this matter and that person has ignored my letter, but that is par for the course from the NWC. Something should be done about this organisation.
I have also been trying to find out about repairs to roads in Hope Pastures where I reside. Again there has been a conspiracy of silence. It would seem that no one cares, but how much is it going to cost the government to repair these roads when they are allowed to turn into rivers. Right now the road on which I live, and which incidentally is a bus route, is almost a river and so too is Phadrian which is off Glendon Circle.
I hope that it is not too much to ask of you to communicate with me and tell me just what does a citizen do in this country, other than blocking roads to get roads fixed?
I am, etc.,
BARBARA COVER (Miss)
