Get rid of illegal guns

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WISH to congratulate the present government on their re-election to govern this country for another five years. However, I must impress upon them to now implement a stringent campaign to get rid of illegal guns (and ammunition), and to put a stop to the importation! In doing this they should use whatever means necessary, such as tracking the source, with foreign assistance if needs be; call an amnesty; intensify border patrols and ports of entry screenings etc.

I am aware that some effort is being made but these efforts are clearly not adequate.

If we can achieve progress in this aspect of our nation, I think we can be on the way to massive growth and prosperity. Please stop the guns (before they reach here!)

I am, etc.,

UNES McLEAN Jr
