JAMAICAN MODEL Margo Morrison is currently in Libya where she is a finalist in the 'MissNet' world competition. Ms. Morrison, who is represented by Oxygen Models in London, was chosen from hundreds of other prospects on the Internet.
Miss Morrison and other entrants were flown by private jet to Libya and has been participating in a whirlwind of activities, including photo shoots with leading international photographers, cocktail parties, stage training, sightseeing and fittings for Saturday's finals. Roberto Cavalli, one of the top designers in the world of couture, will be providing fashion for the event.
The relatively new event has enjoyed prime time exposure, featuring Margo Morrison on Swiss, French and German television.
The competition, which is in its second year, is being organised by Omar Harfouch, the former director of the 'Elite Look of the Year' competitions.
This year's competition will feature a runway walk in jeans and T-shirts to replace the traditional swimsuit contest so as not to offend local customs.
The organisers have also replaced the traditional panel of judges with electronic voting that will be open to anyone with an Internet connection. The voting will be conducted through the event's website (www.missnetworld.tv), voters must register so they cannot vote more than once.
Ms. Morrison is one of numerous Saint International models who have been doing well overseas. Since her arrival in London in February of this year she has been booked for major magazines including The Face, Sleazenation, Pride and was involved in several shows during London Fashion week.
Next January she will be heading for Milan, Italy, where she will be represented by MR Model Management.
