
TRADING ON THE JAMAICA STOCK EXCHANGE FOR THE WEEK ENDING NOVEMBER 8, 2002
It was a week of mixed activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, which saw the JSE Index advancing by 1,178.84 (2.86%) points to 42,316 points, mainly owing to the $20.00 increase in the stock price of RBTT Financial. The All Jamaica Composite registered a smaller increase - 162.7 (0.38%) to 41,806.30 points and the JSE Select improved by 7.37 points or 0.56%, to close the week at 1,311.25 points
Advancers and decliners were almost even with an 11:12 ratio, while 7 traded firm. As a result, market capitalisation increased to $272.85 billion representing an increase of $7.40 billion. Total volume crossing the floor stood at 24,756,750 shares valued at $175,807,096.38. The week's volume leader was Cable and Wireless, which traded 12,644,866 (51.07%) shares, followed by Courts with 3,285,903 (13.27%) shares and BNS - 1,475,073 (5.95%) shares.
