Jean Scott

THE EDITOR, Sir:

FOR THE last two weeks of August, I spent a holiday in Canada and met a lady by the name of Violet Jefferson, nee Chin Sue. She expressed an urgent need to find her childhood best friend Jean Scott nee Smith.

During her description of Mrs. Scott, who had married a Donald Scott who worked at Bank of Jamaica, I realised that I had been neighbour and close friend of Mrs. Scott and her children Donna, Gairy and Gregory, while we lived in Bridgeport in the 1970s during high school. My family returned to St. Andrew to live and I lost touch with the Scotts.

Mrs. Jefferson would really like to contact Mrs. Scott as she has been out of touch with her since migrating to Canada in the 1960s. I have exhausted all avenues of contact with Donna especially, and I have come up with blanks. The last time I saw her, she had come to pick up her daughter from dance class at the Tony Wilson Dance Centre where I was a member of The Company Dance Theatre in 1998.

I do hope you will see it fit to publish this letter as Miss Vi is hoping that I will be able to find her lost friend.

Thank you for your kind co-operation and if you need to speak with me further you may contact me at 927-9241 or 342-7153.

I am, etc.,

CAROL A. SMITH
