Water woes
published: Thursday | November 14, 2002

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE to you on behalf of the residents of Blackwoods in Northern Clarendon.

For the last five weeks we have been without our regular supply of piped water. The pump which usually supplies the community has broken down and I see no efforts being made to remedy the situation. Consequently, the residents have to be paying exorbitant sums for water to be trucked to their homes and those who cannot afford this expensive venture have to resort to water holes which are unhygenic.

I call on the powers that be to remedy this situation at the earliest possible date. Our political representatives for this area are Mr. George Lyn and Mr. Pearnel Charles. Please do something soon before an epidemic breaks out.

Remember: "Water is Life."

I am, etc.,

LAVERN GRANT
