Christmas Kettle appeal

TERRENCE ALLEN, left, manager of the King Street branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia Ja. Ltd makes his contribution to the Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle Appeal fund as Major Denzil Walcott lends a helping hand.

The occasion was the official launch of this year's Kettle appeal at the Scotia Centre at Port Royal and Duke Streets, downtown Kingston yesterday.

The Salvation Army has set a target of $5 million to help provide clothing, shelter and foodstuff for needy people over the Christmas holidays and in the new year.

Scotiabank through managing director William Clarke, donated $250,000 to help the Salvation Army realise its target.
