published: Tuesday | November 26, 2002

LONDON, CMC:

WEST INDIES opener Chris Gayle has climbed to number three in the latest world one-day international batting ratings after his prolific form in the just concluded series in India.

Gayle, 23, smashed three centuries against the Indians to average 65.00 and claim the man-of-the-series award, while helping the West Indies clinch a tight 4-3 series win.

Gayle, jumping 10 places up the rankings is the only West Indies batsman in the top 10, with Brian Lara the next best at 19th.
