RGD woes again
published: Wednesday | December 4, 2002

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I MUST commend the Registrar General's Department for the improvement in service as experienced by a few persons. However, I have yet to be numbered among those blessed.

In September 2001, my niece applied for her birth certificate with her father's name to be added. With visits to the Department, and registered letter sent to the CEO on March 8, 2002, the two birth certificates costing $540 (receipts no. 257205) all efforts have been futile.

On July 10, 2002, I applied for four sets of birth certificates, among them one set of two birth certificates for the said niece without her father's name and to date I have only received three sets. My niece's two birth certificates cost $390 (receipt no. 107235) and are still outstanding, even though I have sent a fax on October 9, 2002 followed by a letter which was delivered on October 14, 2002.

I am anticipating that my niece can be numbered among those obtaining belated service for 2002.

I am, etc.,
