ST. GEORGE'S are the new Corporate Area Colts Under-16 schoolboy football champions after coming from behind to beat Norman Manley 2-1 in the final at Campion College on Wednesday.
St. George's College had to fight back from 1-0 down to beat the Norman Manley, whose senior players won the Manning Cup in a penalty shoot-out over Wolmer's on Saturday at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium.
Kemar Lawrence gave Norman Manley an early third-minute lead which was cancelled out in the 28th minute by Damion Sawyers. After some attacking football by both teams, the scores remained tied going into halftime.
The St. George's coaching staff made a number of changes at the break and they paid off midway through the second half when Kemarque Jones, who tormented the Norman Manley defence, struck to put his team ahead for good.
Meanwhile, in the Under-13 final, Wolmer's again went into a penalty shoot-out, but this time came away 3-1 winners over Jamaica College after a 0-0 regulation and extra time draw at the same venue. Brandon Thomas, Andrew Royes and Saeed Robinson scored for the winners, while Orlando Grant was JC's lone penalty scorer.
