NWC - most inefficient utility
published: Monday | December 23, 2002

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT WOULD seem to me that the National Water Commission (NWC) does not care about its customers and once again I have to nominate this Commission as the most inefficient public utility.

I have written at least three letters to the head of the Water Commission setting out my dissatisfaction with the frequent water lock-offs in my area, Hope Pastures; and the shoddy work done by its agents in constantly digging up streets and leaving them with open trenches to ruin motor cars and being a real danger to pedestrians. Winchester Road was an example. This has since been fixed.

Over two weeks ago their agents dug up a small section of Widcome Road and packed it with stones much higher than the road, but this time they placed warning stands to alert motorists and pedestrians at night.

They have not returned to pave it and the rains have come and the stones are all over the road and there is now a deep trench. Will it now take months to have this small portion of road put back into good condition.

I do really believe that the Prime Minister should bell this cat. They seem to be completely immune to complaints and they go their merry way putting John Public at risk. Will it ever end. Please Mr. Prime Minister, do something about this Commission.

I am etc.,

BARBARA COVER
