Please stop the killing

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS a new year; the past one is history and we can with praise and thanksgiving rejoice in the Almighty One above for sparing our lives to see 2003.
My message in brief, to those who commit these crimes, to those who are employers of this deadly trade, to those who contribute to these gruesome acts whether small or great, to those white-collared personnel who are involved in violent acts, to the wealthy and the non-wealthy, to those who the world would be shocked with surprise to be aware that such individuals are practitioners in the business of gunmanship, conspiracy, stabbing, killing, shooting, the act of destruction in all its forms I am appealing to you, on behalf of all Jamaicans, to stop it now!
Let me remind you that there is one very vital thing that you are all forgetting: you can hide from man but you cannot hide from God. A day of judgement is coming and it is nearer than you think. Killers, please stop and let there be no more pain. Thank you. My prayers are with you and the people of Jamaica.
Remember! badness nuh pay!
If this is appropriate, I wish to use this opportunity to express my profound sympathy to Mrs. Diana Wynter and family on the passing of their beloved Mr. Hector Wynter. Indeed he was an affable and erudite journalist. I am an avid reader of his very intelligently scripted columns.
