THE BIG February 12 friendly international between Jamaica and the United States will start at a new time.
Kick off time has been put back to 7 p.m. from the original 2.30 p.m.
Jamaica Football Federation president Captain Horace Burrell said yesterday the new time will give more people a chance to turn out and watch what is shaping up to be an exciting affair at the 'Office'.
"I'm expecting a capacity crowd," he promised while disclosing that Jamaica will field its strongest eleven with the inclusion of all the invited overseas-based players and talented home-based Boyz.
"Jamaica have never beaten the United States but based on the experience of our players this will be our best chance of doing that. We'll be fielding our strongest eleven ever," he said.
Football will be returning to the National Stadium after a long break due to renovation work being undertaken by the Urban Development Corporation.
The Reggae Boyz last played at the Office in 2001 and Burrell is confident that the work will be completed on time and they will finally realise their dream of playing here on a carpet-like surface.
"I visited the Stadium up to this morning (Monday) and I am pleased with the preparatory work I observed. I spoke with Dr. Vin Lawrence and he reiterated that the Stadium will be ready for the match. I have total confidence in Dr Lawrence. We have no fears that the venue will be ready in time," Burrell said.
