THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM very glad to hear that the British government, might impose a condition that Jamaicans should need a visa to come to the UK.
I am a Jamaican who has been living in the UK for five years now. But I have to say that I am ashamed of being a Jamaican here. Too many of the Jamaicans that come here only destroy the people's country. It is very disgraceful the things that they do here.
I am not saying that all of those who come here do the same things, however, 80 per cent of them, are only interested in selling drugs and doing crime. Which is not right. I work and pay taxes here and I have to pay for all the disgraceful things that they do.
When I came, I started from the bottom and worked my way up and now I am a lawyer here. But most of the young Jamaicans that come here only do destructive things which the taxpayers have to pay for. Jamaicans seem to think that they can come to people's country and do as they like.
As for me I will be so glad when they implement the visa system, at least some of them won't have to come here and disgrace good Jamaicans like myself. I really hope that the British Government does this. Most Africans need a visa to come to England and they do not do three-quarters of the things that the Jamaicans do. Those Jamaicans need to be taught a lesson. Sorry to say that the good will have to suffer for the bad.
Well done Tony Blair and David Blunkett if you implement this system.
