When teachers are unmarried and pregnant
published: Wednesday | January 8, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

PLEASE PERMIT me space to say something that has been on my mind and especially since I saw a preview of the same thing on Royal Palm Estate.

It's amazing how things have changed. When I was going to school, an unmarried teacher who became pregnant could not continue to be at work in her state. It was a bad example for students. Personally, I believe that this is a rule that the Ministry of Education should reinstate.

I am not telling teachers how to live their lives but don't you think you should be good role models for your students? Think about it. Standing in front of your students, unmarried and pregnant!

I am etc.,
