Bestiality and children's homes
published: Saturday | January 11, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

BESTIALITY AND sexual abuse is a reality in children's homes while we continue to pay an Ambassador for Children at enormous cost to the taxpayer. We also appoint Arnold Bertram and Anthony Hylton as special advisers to the ministries of Housing and Foreign Affairs respectively. We ignore the fact that we have civil servants in these departments who are getting the job done.

Remember the appointment of O.D. Ramtallie as project co-ordinator for the relocation of many inner-city slums such as Mona Commons? What has been the success rate of this effort?

All that money wasted in hefty salaries and perks while the country bleeds. Would it not have been better for all that money to be used to hire psychologists, as well as to implement better security measures within these children's homes?

I am, etc.,
