Visa regime strains ties to 'Mother Country'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like to express my absolute concurrence with the notion that the traditional 'Mother Country' ties between Jamaica and Britain will be frayed under the new visa regime.

They are racist, we are spineless
THE EDITOR, Sir: ALL THE weeping and wailing re the British visa edict for Jamaicans, will never obscure the fact these actions are race-based.

Disturbed by new UK visa regime
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM a Jamaican living in Canada for the past 10 years and I am a law-abiding citizen.

Settle UK visa issue in the courts
THE EDITOR, Sir: CONCERNING THE new visa requirement to England, I noticed the list of exemptions for visa requirement, but disappointingly I did not see exemption for those Jamaicans who were born prior to 1962 (Jamaica's Independence).

Jamaican envoy flopped on visa issue
THE EDITOR, Sir: AS A patriotic Jamaican living and working in England, I was appalled at the obvious lack of preparation displayed by our High Commissioner in an interview with Channel Four News.

Crime, visas and collective responsibility
THE EDITOR, Sir: I'M WRITING to you to express my concern about this new visa system that has been implemented in England as of January 9, 2003.

A shameful letter
THE EDITOR, Sir: Re: "Bring on the visas for the UK" - letter: What I find shameful is to open a newspaper and to read such rubbish being written about Jamaicans.

Plaudits for TPDCo
THE EDITOR, Sir: WHILE THERE is an abundance of negative issues on which talk-show hosts and news editors engorge themselves daily, I wish to highlight a very positive observation; the annual Maroon festivities in Accompong Town.

A sign please NWA
THE EDITOR, Sir: A GROUP of us paid a visit to the Rockfort Mineral Spa on Sunday, January 4. On leaving we had to turn left as there is now a one-way because of the new Rockfort Highway.
