Golding poses questions on the economy

OPPOSITION SENATOR Bruce Golding gave notice in the Senate last Friday that he would be asking Leader of Government Business, Burchell Whiteman the following questions:
Will the Minister state the value of the government's foreign currency
denominated debt which falls due in 2003/2004?
How much of the amount referred to in (1) above represents bond issues?
What were the net losses experienced by the Bank of Jamaica in calendar
years 2001 and 2002?
How much loss in each year is attributable to :
(a) Intervention in the foreign exchange market?
(b) Devaluation?
(c) Absorption of liquidity?
(d) Foreign reserves accumulation?
How much of these loses have been covered by cash disbursements from the
Ministry of Finance?
What was the net value (in US dollars) of foreign currency sold to the
market by the Bank of Jamaica?
Will the Minister briefly outline the terms and conditions of the sale
of Netserv Jamaica by the National Investment Bank of Jamaica?
Will the Minister state whether all conditions contained in the sale agreement
have so far been complied with?
