THE EDITOR, Sir:
MEMBERS OF my family and I wish to pay tribute to Police officers Young and Hines of the Mobile Patrol and Mr. Watson of Versair, who assisted us on December 30, 2002, at 5:30 a.m. on the dual carriage way leading to the Norman Manley Airport.
Our vehicle developed a puncture, within minutes these offices stopped and assisted with their car headlights. Soon it became obvious that our car jack was defective. The officers then waved down Mr. Watson who kindly consented to return after completing his duties.
Meanwhile, officers Hines and Young took my family and their luggage to the airport and immediately returned to continue supplying light from their vehicle. Mr. Watson returned shortly after and assisted us with the jack from his vehicle.
We thank you all very much for your kind assistance in our moment of distress.
I am etc.,
