Spotlight on Jackson Relays
published: Saturday | January 18, 2003

THE annual Sports Plus/Howard Jackson Relays, one of the foremost relay carnivals on the local track and field calendar, is on today at Lyssons Sports Club in St. Thomas.

Action which begins at 9 a.m. will see the top boys schools in action along with some of the leading girls schools. Last year's boys champions Jamaica College will take the field but girls winners St. Jago will be absent.

Over in western Jamaica the track and field season gets underway with the staging of the County of Cornwall Athletics Association's (COCAA) Field and Distance Meet to be held at Mannings School in Savanna La Mar starting at 10:00.

Athletes from schools in the five western parishes will compete in all field events and in track events from 800m upwards.
