Expressing our appreciation
published: Saturday | January 25, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:
THE MANAGEMENT and staff of the Cornwall Regional Hospital still have memories of their staff appreciation and administration parties and a number of companies/individuals whose generosity made the two events possible during the Yuletide season.

We are heartened to know that our efforts at giving quality health care to those in need do not go unnoticed and that there are companies/organisations willing to show us that we are appreciated.

It is in that light that we ask that you allow us to express our appreciation to those who contributed their talents and resources to both events.

Red Stripe, Halls Investment and Abbott/Cari-Med readily gave liquid refreshment while Marguerite's and The Ritz Carlton Spa and Golf Resort each donated prizes of dinners for two.

Lord Laro and his band, the Sam Sharpe Band, through the courtesies of Cecile Walden and Alma Williams, and Andrew Bowen provided top class musical entertainment; and the internationally acclaimed Hatfield Folk Singers thrilled with a delightful serving from their repertoire of folk and cultural catalogue.

Our cash needs were met with the combined contributions of Industrial Gases Ltd, Petroleum Company of Jamaica, Donemar Ltd, L.P. Azar Ltd, Consumables Direct Sales Ltd, Cornwall Medical & Dental Supplies, and Milestone Environmental Solutions Ltd.

We had support services from Leroy and Hector Hall who supplied a large tent and Sandra Hall provided the printed programmes.

Of course, despite all this, the events would not have been successful without the input of members of staff and our appreciation also goes out to those who laboured in making preparations for the events, the cooks, servers, singers/entertainers and the maintenance team.

I am, etc.,
CLINTON W. PICKERING
Public Relations Officer
