Classic continues

THE FIRST Global Bank/Phil Palmer Tennis Classic continues with exciting play at the Jamaica Pegasus Courts this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
The tournament started last weekend and ends tomorrow and a number of amateurs will attempt to make the final grade.
In action on Tuesday night, Katherine Smietansk beat Jackie Sanguinetti 7-5, 6-4 in the ladies class B category. Norman Watkiss put up a struggle but went down 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 to K. Kaluiamoto in men's class one play.
In other class one games, Neil Watson beat Barry Hazel 6-4, 6-4, Radcliffe Watkiss beat Chris Beamon 6-0, 6-1, Phillip Williams beat David Isaacs 6-3, 6-3, Lloyd Allen stopped Nigel Casserly 7-6, 6-1 while Alex Pilipthak defeated Davian Lewis 6-2, 1-6, 7-6.
From class three, Wayne Ashley emerged victorious with a 6-1, 3-6, 17-15 win over Deon Gardner while class four player Ted Webley beat David Vernon 6-0, 6-1.
