The state of our nation's roads

THE EDITOR, Sir:
On visiting Jamaica recently I was appalled at the state of our nation's roads, to be more specific, the roads leading in and out of Montego Bay. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that the road at Bogue leading into MoBay lacks proper drainage. I had to wade through three feet of water in order to get to the airport. Doesn't the caretaker or MP for the area realise that this is the only route leading into the city from Negril.
How many more floods like the one on January 27 and the loss of income generated from tourism will it take to have this minor problem addressed. Why aren't the hoteliers in the area lobbying the Government or even pooling their resources to solve this little problem. Surely they complain about crime, why don't they complain or even donate some of their resources to fixing the infrastructure.
