THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am adding to the letter from Prof. Hewan. As a Jamaican living in the United States, I too also find it frustrating having to be confronted by co-workers and clients asking if it's safe to go to Jamaica. I too feel that the Jamaicans who go overseas and create problems with the law and have to "Roar" are indeed the minority.
I wear my flag proudly in my automobile and demand the utmost respect from all, because I will give each and everyone I meet the respect they deserve as long as I am not disrespected.
I will not hang my head and there is no reason for any other fellow Jamaicans living overseas to hang their heads either.
There are many great, successful Jamaicans who are contributing greatly in their communities and their professions.
My family and I will always hold our heads up and are always proud to say "WE ARE JAMAICANS".
I am etc.,
