No home for mentally ill inmates
UP TO AUGUST 2001, the Department of Correctional Services said there were 317 mentally ill persons, but the Independent Jamaica Council for Human Rights (IJCHR) insists there at least 500, in the island's prisons, mostly on petty charges.

Who signed the search warrants?
THERE ARE conflicting reports as to who signed the information which was taken before the court for the warrants to search the offices of two attorneys-at-law last week Monday and Tuesday and seize documents.


Water pollution danger in 'Ochi'
RESIDENTS IN sections of Ocho Rios are complaining of their water supply being contaminated, charging that widespread squatting in the watershed areas overlooking the town is to blame.
