Great road improvement

THE EDITOR, Sir:
ON MY recent visit to my homeland, I was heartened by the efforts being made to construct and improve the roadways. I think all connected with these projects should be heartily congratulated. Unlike some of my fellow expatriates who have never ever seen a pothole where they reside or work, I know I have seen and encountered many. Jamaica, you have done well. What the appropriate authorities need to do is to install proper lighting and warning signs and eliminate the hazard of cattle roaming freely on the highways, especially on the Bustamante Highway.
The area of priority for the warning signs should be at that light at the intersection of Ferry (I believe it's now called Mandela Highway) and the road leading to Gregory Park, for the speed that this particular stretch of road attracts the light is too sudden. It's very refreshing to be able to proceed via Marcus Garvey Drive then unto Michael Manley Boulevard heading towards Harbour View arriving at the airport feeling happy at the time you spent with family and friends and not lucky you made it there in one piece.
